Irish Openair Toggenburg

Irish joie de vivre sold out in bright sunshine

With just over 7,200 visitors over two days, the 13th edition of the Irish Openair Toggeburg was celebrated in Rietbad. The detailed festival in "Irish style", great music with various artists such as The Led Farmers from Ireland was a success. The atmosphere on Saturday evening was simply phenomenal.

For the second time in the history of the Irish Openair Toggenburg (after 2016), ticket sales had to be closed on Saturday evening. The majority of tickets were sold in advance.

The organizers would like to thank all sponsors, landowners and everyone who supports the Openair in any way. First and foremost the 250 or so volunteers. Without the countless efforts of all the volunteers, the Openair could not be held. Many thanks to all of them.

Musical

Brendan Wade & Simon Brem opened the musical part of the Openair on Friday at 16:00 before Quirill & Vincent. At 20:30, Simon Lüthi and the One Night Band combined Swiss folk music with Irish folk as a cultural window, before Uncle Bard & the Dirty Bastards created a great atmosphere on the main stage. Friday ended in the marquee with the Paul Daly Band and The Led Farmers.

On Saturday from 08:00, breakfast was accompanied by Brendan Wade & Simon Brem. After the Ticino band Laralba, the Irish band Liadan performed in beautiful weather and warm temperatures. After the second performance by Simon Lüthi with the John Doe Band, The Led Farmers created a lively atmosphere in front of the main stage before the UK/Swiss duoBrothers Fërns and the Celtic Fusion rounded off the evening.

Catering

The various catering pubs were very much enjoyed & used in all areas. Irish stew, fish & chips as well as seafood and crêpes were all enjoyed. The range of drinks on offer consisted of many different types of beer and a large selection of whiskeys.

Sláinte & until September 6/7, 2o24.
