Irish & Scottish Folk
"Táin" means "raid" in Gaelic. And their concerts feel a bit like an ambush. Without wasting many words, they dive into the world of Irish and Scottish tunes with a lot of energy and virtuosity, which immediately captivate the audience. There is something magical about these melodies, which have often been handed down for many generations, and hardly any other style of music attracts such a wide audience. The melodies sound like joie de vivre and lightness. Occasionally spiced with a pleasant pinch of longing and melancholy. They carry the vastness that we enjoy standing on cliffs. And let us feel the power of stormy sea winds and the wild nature of the Highlands. Táin Trio is made up of 3 musicians who have been passionate about folk music for many years and have already made it sound good in various formations. Thom Freiburghaus plays these enchanting melodies with passion and finesse on various bagpipes and flutes, Mirjam Gosteli spices them up with fiery percussion and Silas Bitterli frames them with a powerful guitar and occasionally sings a song with his unique voice. Songs about seafarers, broken hearts and wild thyme - a musical assault of a very special kind. One that makes you blissfully happy and tempts you to dance, and makes you want to buy a train ticket to the north immediately. Or to go to the next concert that catapults you there.
