The term Tir Nan Og (or Tir Na nOg) comes from the Gaelic language. It is the name for the "land of eternal youth"; a kind of Irish heaven. A fountain of youth gave the land its name. It is also home to the fairies and elves of Ireland, such as the famous Leprechaun and many others. Ö also originates from there.
The band
Tir Nan Og have already gained a lot of stage experience and the Bavarian Irish still manage to reinvent their style. Yet they have always remained true to their Celtic roots. With influences from rock, ragga and acoustic punk, they welcome their fans to the land of eternal youth. Because that's what "Tir Nan Og" means. The sextet has already burnt down many an international stage and regularly heats up the audience with creative Irish & Celtic folk rock, beats that get into your feet and lyrics that get into your throat. With cheerful as well as critical lyrics, flutes, violin, nyckelharpa, bagpipes, fat bass and driving drums, Tir Nan Og serve up their unmistakable sound.
