The Doolin Céilí Band: From karstic Ireland
The legendary flute virtuoso Christy Barry formed The Doolin Ceili Band in 2010 and was recently awarded the Doolin Lifetime Achievement Award for his life's work. Christy Barry is best known for his compositions about The Burren - a karstic landscape in County Clare in Ireland. The Doolin Ceili Band also comes from this county, more precisely from the village of "Doolin". This small town is known for its excellent musicians.
Various musicians sometimes play in The Doolin Ceili Band. Nevertheless, the band's style is unmistakable and unique. Members of the band are Christy Barry (Flute, Whistle, Spoons), Terry Bingham (Concertina), James Devitt (Fiddle), Kevin Griffin (Banjo) and Colin Nea (Accordion).
