The traditional Irish group Tailteann comes from Ireland and has been making Irish folk music for many years. The group owes its name to the "Tailteann Fair" of ancient Ireland, an important cultural festival which took place annually on the banks of the River Blackwater, County Meath. Members Marty Byrne, Hugh McBrien and Eddie Smyth have a wealth of traditional music, songs, stories and Irish humor to share with the world.
Over the years, the guys have played in various formations and have gained a wealth of professional and first-class experience and skill on the "boards" of the world. Open and outgoing, no matter what the occasion, these experienced musicians always find favor by playing together.
They play a wide variety of musical instruments, such as button accordion, guitar, violin, banjo, whistles, bodhran and various other percussion instruments, accompanied by three very powerful and beautiful voices.
