Pubside Down are a headstrong, up-and-coming folk rock band and, as you can tell from their name, the six musicians from Lucerne like to turn Celtic music on its head. Pubside Down have been combining the traditional with the contemporary since 2002. Celtic melodies from Irish and Scottish pubs meet pop, rock, country or Latin. The result is a unique, twisted mix that entices everyone to dance and bounce. In full formation, Pubside Down are more reminiscent of a rock band than an Irish folk band: while drums, electric and acoustic guitars and electric bass drive the grooves, violin and flute provide the typical melodies of the Emerald Isle. A bit of percussion and the playful quoting of well-known pop elements round off the mix. Pubside Down have released three albums and played over 100 concerts. Their careful arrangements, precise, dynamic playing and not least a large pinch of fun have earned them a lot of attention at home and abroad, and not just among folk fans. Pubside Down have been on tour with their latest album "The Irish Do" since 2009 and are looking forward to introducing even more people to the taste of Celtic melodies.
