Laralba: Irish music from Switzerland
The focus of the Ticino band LARALBA is on traditional Irish and Celtic songs.
The repertoire is rounded off by new interpretations of well-known folk-pop songs.
The arrangements are presented in a semi-acoustic and modern style, with
great respect for the sources.
In 2017, the first album "Laralba" is released, which includes traditional Irish songs and
also contains one of its own songs in Italian.
At the Locarno Film Festival on August 13, 2019, the band officially performed two of their own songs
from the upcoming album. This album will feature Irish folk songs as well as
contain unpublished material of Celtic originals.
In September 2019, LARALBA took to the stage again with two concerts in front of thousands of
enthusiastic spectators at the renowned Irish Openair Toggenburg.
In 2021, they worked on the project "MusiCanTIFestIValle - Musicisti ticinesi si aiutano vol. 2",
a compilation of various
Ticino artists.
