The Irish Folk BandBombay Suicide from Volketswil was founded in its original line-up over ten years ago by the dedicated songwriter and singer Matthias Naef and the creative violinist Elder von Ow. With influences from various artists such asThe Dubliners andThe Pogues
the sound is based on traditional sounds and at the same time is expanded with their own interpretations and melodies, achieving maximum versatility. The positive chemistry between the band members makes the stage shake and the dancing legs swing. A lot of energy, commitment and the constant desire for more form the basis for this unique band.
The band Bombay Suicide has consisted of seven musicians since 2022 and performs well-known Irish songs such asWhisky in the year andDirty Old Town on stage. Simple and polyphonic melodies characterize the stories told about freedom, work, alcohol, the sea and - last but not least - love.
