The Irish Openair Team

About us

Where Irish joie de vivre meets Swiss hospitality - and an idea became a festival family in 2008.

We have been bringing a piece of Ireland to Toggenburg since 2008 - with music, pubs, dancing, a medieval market and an open heart.
What began as a small meeting place for Irish folk fans is now the largest Irish Openair north of the Alps - A weekend full of sound, culture and community at the foot of the Säntis in Rietbad (Ennetbühl SG).

But behind the stages, tents and pubs is more than organization: it is a passionate team of music lovers, craftsmen, hosts and volunteers who together create a small miracle every year.

The Irish Openair Crew

Behind the festival is a dedicated association and a large network of volunteers, partners and friends. Many have been involved for years - on, off and behind the stage.

"The best thing is when everyone is dancing, laughing and singing on Saturday evening - then we know what we've been working for all year."

  • Our history

The first Irish Openair Toggenburg took place in 2008 with a handful of bands, a tent and a lot of idealism.
Today, over 15 years later, the festival delights thousands of visitors from all over Switzerland - with three stages, two authentic Irish pubs, a medieval market, regional gastronomy and camping in the middle of nature.

Our mission was clear from the start:
👉 Bringing the real Irish pub and music culture to Switzerland - with quality, heart and alpine charm.

  • Our values

We believe in community, authenticity and hospitality - three things you can feel immediately on our premises.

    Authenticity
Real Irish acts, original Guinness on tap, handmade music, no plastic Ireland.

    Community
Families, friends, musicians, helpers - at the Irish Openair people know each other, greet each other, dance together.

    Close to nature
Our backdrop - the foothills of the Säntis Alps - is part of the experience. We rely on regional partners, sustainable solutions and respectful treatment of the environment.

    Quality & passion
From booking to beer glasses: we pay attention to detail, work with passion - and celebrate what connects us.
